Funny picture isnt it? If your kid came home one day with school photo just like this, how would you know which one is yours?!
I just found it on what looks like another blog! I know some readers arent going to like this but I actually agree with what the writers saying. If you scroll down to where the comments are, its clear what hes saying. I mean if people come to this country then they should try to integrate in the society in some way! I mean Ive heard that when people go to Dubai... they have to wear loose clothes on because apparently its insulting if you wear revealing clothes on.
You dont believe me?? Heres the link:
Dubai's DO's & DONTS
See? And Ive never heard of tourists making a scene there saying they wont do this or that because they are respecting the country's laws and culture. So why cant people who live in England do the same?!!
As the guy above says 'In Western European society, to go out in public with your face masked is disturbing. Hiding the face is felt to be threatening, and slightly scary'
To be honest who am I to say if somethings pointless or not? We all have our reasons for the things we do and I noticed from the stories of the 2 women who began to wear the veil that they had their own reasons for wearing it. Ok we should be allowed to wear what we want but I just feel the veil isnt like any other piece of clothing, it causes so much offense to people and at the same time Islam is continuously accused of "oppressing women"...so whats the point in causing all this drama? Women arent going to lose anything by not wearing it are they?

Isn't freedom to dress how you want part of being British? No one would say a Jewish man isnt British because he wears a yarmulke or that a nun isnt British because of her wimple. Why should Muslim women be any different?
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that there is too much freedom in Britain! Give someone an inch and they will take a mile! All religous people can wear what they want in this country, you can hardly say a Jewish man wearing a yarmulke is the same thing as wearing a veil can you? Comparing a yarmulke and a headscarf would perhaps make more sense wouldnt it?
